專家簡介：

Paul Cobley 教授，英國著名學者、國際符号學會會長，現任教于英國倫敦米德賽斯大學媒體與傳播學院，研究方向是語言與媒體傳播，曾在英國薩塞克斯大學和倫敦帝國理工學院學習，于1992年得到博士學位。曾在包括美國波士頓大學，瑞士提切洛大學、英國倫敦都市大學在内的9個大學任教。著有The American Thriller ((((2000) 、Narrative ((((2001)、Contemporary Semiotics ((((2009)等，主編出版The Communication Theory Reader、The Routledge Companion to Semiotics and Linguistics、Communication Theories （4 vols.）、The Media: An Introduction ((((2nd ed.)、Realism for the 21st Century: A John Deely Reader、The Routledge Companion to Semiotics以及Semiotics, Communication and Cognition叢書等。現任Subject Matters and Social Semiotics和 Cybernetics and Human Knowing兩家學術期刊的主編/副主編，研究成果屢獲大獎,曾經先後60次受邀參加世界各國舉辦的國際傳媒學術研讨會并做主旨發言。現任我校Language and Semiotic Studies期刊顧問。
